Yep. The Notebook have a sequel and is titled "The Wedding". For more information, check out Nicholas Sparks's official website.

I'm currently reading "The Wedding" and Noah is still alive in the year 2003. Allie died 6 or 8 years before, I can't remember. I thought they died together at the end as well but I read on Nicholas Sparks site that he likes to keep the ending sort of a mystery. People interpret it different ways.

yeah, i was confused when they came out with a sequel because the way i interpreted it, both allie and noah died at the end. partially because i really didn't want to invision 2 old people having sex....

yeah, i was confused when they came out with a sequel because the way i interpreted it, both allie and noah died at the end. partially because i really didn't want to invision 2 old people having sex.... ;D Exactly. The last three words of "The Notebook" sent shivers through my bones-- "undoing my buttons..." I couldn't conceive the images even if I forced my mind to. It's romantic and sweet, but I just cannot image two seniors doing anything beside holding hands and kissing. On the other side, I interpret that they died together because of the passage-- that I typed on my previous comments-- and that I wanted the two to be able and live together. I was never fond of stories leaving one dead and one alive. Since I've grown to love Noah's and Allie's character so much and read through each word of their sufferings for love, I cannot picture one of them living without the other. If one dies, the other must go, too. That way, they can happily be together in heaven. ;D And maybe because of my believes and wants, I defined the conclusion with the two dying together, which I think is a great conclusion.

the first time i read the ending of the book (in April) i immediately thought that they both died....especially because of the line about slipping foward to heaven itself. it would be very unlikely that they'd be making love with noah's conditions (plus, i don't want to think about it because it seems really gross to me. young noah and allie making love is perfectly fine, but they're eighty something? na-ah).
i interpreted that they both die and are making love in heaven, and for some reason i pictured them both being younger again...like the ages they were when they reunited. i dunno why.

Same here. I was not able to picture the two seniors making love during their 80s or around there. Therefore, I pictured the two journeying toward heaven. The "heaven" line also affected my interpretations of the conclusion. [/size]

oyyyy...i totally had forgotten i'd already replied a bunch of times to this topic. i basically repeated myself oh well. but i know what you're saying . I will stick by my original interpretation...they made love in heaven...where their bodies took the form of...something younger, haha.
