Ah, isn't his voice just dreamy on the chorus? It makes him even more attractive to me.

Yeah okay so Ryan was hot BEFORE I knew he could sing. And then I heard his song, and it's EXACTLY the kind of music I'm in love with, and I just wanted him even more. Then I found out he was playing the guitar himself, he can play piano, and he writes his own songs...Can you say irresistable? ;D

I think the lyrics are a touch different than what you've got here, i found this version on slightlyaskew.net...it just fits better...anyone agree? Shadows are my friends And the light hates my face it hides behind the clouds in its institute of grace And our children warm their beds With dreams of growing old But deception has run rampant And their futures have been mistold and also... Darkness thinks I'm pretty And the rain covers my soul But the women think I'm ugly They care not for hearts of gold And freedom teaches nothing If only to create Lately innocence is jaded it only preaches hate Could just be me, but i think it makes more sense this way as well as flows better lyrically in the song... Put Me In The CarRyan Gosling Shadows are my friends And the light hits my face And hides behind the clouds And its institute of grace And our children warm their beds With dreams of growing old But deception has run rampant And their futures have been mistold Chorus: Just put me in the car And drive so far Until I'm free again And whisper in my ear That all these years I've been dreaming That you're kissing me goodnight And it'll be alright It'll be alright It'll be alright It'll be all that I have ever asked of you Darkness thinks I'm pretty And the rain covers my soul But the women think I'm ugly They care not for hearts of gold And freedom teaches nothing If only to create Lately innocence is jaded Only preachers hate Chorus: Just put me in the car And drive so far Until I'm free again And whisper in my ear That all these years I've been dreaming That you're kissing me goodnight And it'll be alright It'll be alright It'll be alright It'll be all that I have ever asked of you Just put me in the car And drive so far Until I'm free again Then kissing me goodnight And it'll be alright It'll be alright It'll be alright It'll be all that I ever ask of you

yeah, that makes a lot more sense. when i looked at the other version of the song, the line "only preachers hate" kinda sketched me out a bit. i'm glad that's not what he says though

Chrissy, thanks for catching the two typos I made. That is what happens when you are up late and fail to proofread. I have corrected, "hit" to "hate" in line two and "and" to "in" in line four.
Otherwise, the lyrics I wrote are correct as typed. I transcribed them directly from Ryan actually singing his song, not from the various websites which all contained inconsistencies, including slightlyaskew.
Open up the link to his song (response # 6, page 1 of this thread) and open up my lyrics (response #19, page 2). Read the lyrics as you listen to Ryan sing. They match, word for word. Granted, sometimes it is hard to understand Ryan with the gritty, Bob Dylanish style of singing he uses, especially on the stanzas.

Ryan does not sing "it . . .". I agree with you, that line bothers me alot.

I agree.
Somewhere I found some of the partial lyrics to some of Ryan's other songs he has performed. I forgot to tag the website and now I cannot find it again. Some of his songs are unusual, some are funny. One has the title, "What Do You Wear to Bed".
