I watched "The Notebook" the other day for the second time, and unfortunately I must say that I found it boring! okay now don't send me flame mail, lol. Okay I wanted to see it so bad but when it started to play I found myself wondering what was going on in the new catwomen right now. Not to mention I got a little distracted, cause they were playing "I Robot" next door and you could hear the loud parts from that movie, I was thinking what the hell is going on at part of the movie to make a loud noise. Anyway I wanted to be captured into it but it was sooooooo boring, it was too lengthy IMO. and you guys may think I am shallow or whatever but the part that I anticipated was The love scene, also the break up. I was telling my friend before the movie started that I'm not gonna cry again, and I thought I was, but I didn't, my friend as well as myself was surpised I didn't. I just remembered at that moment that the same thing happened when I watched "A Walk to Remember." the second time when it was in threatres, I was bored of that too. So I realized that in order to watch these romantic movie I shouldn't really go and watch it over and over again, b/c I don't want to lose the feeling I got when I first started watching it. I cannot wait until the video comes out though, cause I will buy it but I will not watch it repeatedly, I will watch it when I am in the mood. Also I think I didn't really enjoy the movie cause I was still hyped up, cause it was the last day of Summer School and I got the second highest mark in my class. So my realization is that with these kind of movies I should watch them sparingly, or else it will become repetitious and boring, and that is the last thing I want to experience the next time I watch "The Notebook." I know though with some time apart, that the next time I watch this movie, I will be captured in again by the intense love which is that of Allie & Noah.
Later.

agreed. although my second time watching it in theaters wasn't boring for me, i do not want to watch it repeatedly because i know it will ruin its captivation. that's what happened with a walk to remember; i would watch it practically every night before i went to sleep and now i can't stand it.

Sweetcandy - Don't worry! It's your own opinion and you are entitled to it. That's the point of these boards. I cried when I first saw it, second time I teared up, but not like the first time. It's like that with any movie, though. If you can feel the same kind of emotion -whether it be laughing, crying, etc. - from the first time seeing a movie to watching the same movie over and over again, then that film is pretty significant. I think you have to really appreciate the characters Ryan and Rachel play to thoroughly enjoy The Notebook to the point of seeing it several times in a short amount of time. The storyline was predictable, I knew that. But the acting was magnificent that I didn't care if I already knew what was going to happen. I was mesmerized by them

Yea... I know what you mean.. I still think the notebook is the best movie ever made... I teared a little bit on the first time... but i kept thinking about it, replaying the scenes in my mind.. then i saw it for the second time... i was bawling my eyes out.. i dunno why but it hit me really bad when i saw it the second time.. i was crying when the movie never even started yet... because of the music and the scenery and the birds flying it made me cry so hard... god.. im crazy i know.. then i saw it the third time i teared a little bit... i guess it kinda lost its touch or something i dunno... but i still love the movie.. i always replayed the scenes in my mind when im bored.. its just a good movie.. i am still obbessed with it... because today i went to see a cinderella story.. since the notebook was still on the theaters.. i snuck in the notebook and i was like crying for a little bit.. then my mom was like lets go someones coming.. rats... lol... but it still has a powerful effect on me...

i'm going to see it for the second time this weekend with my mom. i hope i don't get too emotional the second time because i didn't cry the first time. like katryna said, i was too excited the first time to really take it in and cry. there was a lump in my throat that i had to get rid off a couple times though..

The first time, I was taking it all in, and I was superexcited, but I did cry a bit...the second time, I was with my boyfriend, so I tried not to cry, but a few tears escaped...the third time, I was WRECKED. It seriously really drained me...I wanted to cry at parts I hadn't cried at before. I had reread some of the book that day, and cried like a baby, so it was fresh in my mind, and I cried a good bit when I watched the movie. I was even feeling sad after it, hehe. And then, I got the soundtrack, and I cried when I listened to "I'll Be Seeing You." I'm such a girl.
