I'm just wondering if anyone knows what the poem is called that Noah is reading when Allie comes and brings him her painting? It's when Allie meets his dad for the first time and the stuttering/stammering conversation happens....
...also the one that Noah reads to Allie on the night she returns to the house...and they are sitting on the porch together after dinner....
I've looked in the book and cant seem to find either....
stop thinking about what i want, what he wants, what your parents want...what do YOU want....?
...darkness thinks i'm pretty and the rain covers my soul...

It's in "Leaves Of Grass" which I recently purchased, and I've been looking for it, so I'll let you know if and when I find it- (it's a big book! lol.)

I have yet to read the entire thing (I have a million books I still want to read), but skimming through it and reading some here and there, I have enjoyed it. Whitman is not as difficult as other poets to understand and appreciate!

I thought that Whitman was difficult. I studied Whitman poetry my sophomore year, so maybe that's why. If I read his poetry again, it would probably be easier to analyze. I prefer Thoreou to Whitman though.
