Here's a question: if you could add something to the book that was in the film, what would you add? Personally, it would have been cool to read Noah and Allie's entire summer romance before she left. I think it would have made the reunion even stronger.

well, in the film, i liked how they actually showed what happened after allie went to the hotel and talked to lon. then she came back to noah. that part wasn't in the book, so i think that's what i'd like to see added

the number one thing i would've liked in the book that was different in the movie- their dialogue. the book version of noah and allie just seemed TOO perfect...everything they said, every reply they gave each other was so perfectly scripted and really unrealistic. even their fighting was perfect it seemed. i dunno, i liked how in the movie, they fought, then made up and bickered constantly. it made their relationship more realistic. the book was sometimes too sappy, the but movie was just perfect.

I totally agree with you. If I could add something else I would have the movie show abit more of them after they got back together. Maybe just like a quick glimpse of thier wedding or something.Okay I cant get this out the way I want to so Im just gunna shut-up

Yeah, I also liked the dialogue in the film, and the bickering back and forth, it really illustrated their passion!

I'm a huge Nicholas Sparks fan (I've read all his books), so I'm always a bit nervous when a film version of one of them comes out. (Message In A Bottle and A Walk To Remember are based on his novels.) The Notebook, to me at least, was more closest to the book than the other two were, (despite any differences) so I was very happy to see that!

the whole summer romance...more detail to that should have been put into the book...Which, i'll say again...i love the way the movie tells that story....
i also agree with others by saying i actually felt that the relationship between Allie and Noah was more "real" in the movie than in the book...the book had everything they said to each other as a perfect thing...and the movie added depth to their relationship, showing that even though they were deeply in love with each other...there was still a...i cant find the right word...but almost an edge to their relationship...
i think that was the defining difference that made the movie ebtter than the book....
